More bad news for the publishing industry...

...or is it? Two interesting recent comparative articles. One from the Guardian:


Pretty negative stuff, though one of the blog comments regarding possible uses for a Jeffrey Archer novel is amusing. And then there is a response to the Guardian piece from Mercy Pilkington:



  1. David, I read both the links. Was Sony doing a summer sale kind of thing or is this ridiculous pricing permanent?

  2. I can't understand how Sony can keep up this policy of paying the author/publisher the full list price if they are only receiving 20p in sales. A cynic might say this is the thin end of the wedge and the start of a much lower RRP across the board.
